Ignite:Waterloo was a really fun and interesting event tonight. Thanks so much to the organizers (esp. Mark) for inviting me to speak on hacker spaces. The format was a good challenge and the audience was great.

James, Darcy, Pawel, Doug and his wife Brenda all came out from kwartzlab. Your support was much appreciated. We chatted with tons of people about, what else, kwartzlab! Gave away lots of buttons and stickers. Finally met, in person, Simon Clark from diyode, the Guelph hacker space effort. He gave a great talk on building a community and I’m confident diyode will get off the ground soon. I chatted with Dave Swart who gave a talk on his most amazing panoramic photos. Really hoping we can have him speak at kwartzlab and blow our hair back with some of the math behind the magic.
There was some cupcake decorating, that had some tasty benefits.
Ramy (show here) and Alex did a great job hosting. Really looking forward to next year’s Ignite.
