Ideas
- "Demo potluck": Demo stations (in the lab) with people presenting
- Each station has a theme?
- Main screen demos in the lab, with a projector.
- Food is important
- Show stuff that's new and cool. Show off the release.
- For prep, watch and learn from the Windows 7 release party video. Very informative. :D
Demos
5-15 minutes on tools, toys and gadgets. Shorter the better. Focus on general desktop user, and things a hacker can use to make cool stuff. Introductory developer demos welcome.

Talks
Again, the shorter the better...
- What's new in 9.10?
- Contributing to Ubuntu (and upstream and OSS in general)
- Ubuntu Canada LoCo
Install fest
- need volunteers.
- Is anyone interested?
Swag
- System76
- T-shirt screening?
- Stickers?
- Buttons?
Food
- Pizza/pop
- Coffee/tea
- Desserts
- Covering costs:
- Pass the hat/request donations?
- Charge for food ($2/slice, etc.)
- Charge admission (I'd rather not --Darcy Casselman 21:43, 6 October 2009 (UTC))
- Corporate sponsorships? (Dare I dream?)
Money
If we collect money for food, any profit should be either put into the Kwartzlab Project Fund (which I probably just created) and/or donated to the Ubuntu project (or Debian.
Local Repo
It'd be great if we had a copy of the Karmic repository in the Lab. I think our 'net connection is pretty good, but local gigabit is better.
Notes
- It's Open Source Week!
- Put out an announcement at the KWLUG, and there's quite a bit of interest there.
- Asked an artist for original artwork for posters.
- Started working on posters, but I suck at graphic design. Will ask around for help.
