[KWartzAnnounce] Becoming full members, getting your keys

KWartzLab Members Announce List announce at kwartzlab.ca
Wed Aug 19 16:31:41 EDT 2009

Hello everyone,

We had a quick Board meeting before starting on the cleanup this
evening. One of the things we decided was that we're going to be making
everyone full members of the corporation, and we'll be handing out
keys, on August 31st, at the lab! Yay! Keys for everyone!

So, if you haven't signed up yet, and want to do so during the "founding
member period", you need to do so by the 31st! That meeting will be the
last time we'll be accepting founding members, and may be the last
opportunity for automatic and instant acceptance into KwartzLab. After
then, the process to sign up may change--we haven't decided on the
details just yet. So if you want keys, get that form signed and your
cheque in. Details are on http://kwartzlab.ca/. Email your questions
to join at kwartzlab.ca.

If you have signed up as a founding member, you need to get us your
first month's membership dues ($50+GST, $52.50 total) by the meeting on
the 31st. September 1st will be the first month of full dues. The
social meeting on Thursday the 20th would be a convenient time to hand
those dues in.

If you come to the meeting on the 31st with a cheque in hand, you'll
walk out with a key! (and you'll be a full member of the corporation!)

Oh, and by the way, you should come out and help with the space prep.
We're having a lot of fun doing it! A short list of what was done
yesterday (I might screw up giving out credit, please speak up if I
missed you):
- Ed and James put a deadbolt on the door
- Ben, Bevan, Darin, and Gus cleaned out the moat
- Ed sanded down some of the crap on the walls in the kitchen
- Katchan and I pulled off the falling-apart pegboard from under the
  windows
- Micheal K brought in a mini-fridge to keep the workers' beverages cold
- Oh, and much more. I'm sure people did things I'm not even aware of.

Regardless, it's progressing nicely.

People with keys will be posting to the members list when they're going
in to work, so you can go in when they have the lab open. Micheal K and
Katchan are coordinating things, so you can get in touch with them to
find out what needs doing.

Cheers,

--
