Kwartzlab Members Announce List announce at kwartzlab.ca

Hey, just wanted to let everyone know that the kwartzlab.ca website will
be migrated to the new Wordpress installation during the Synchronous
Hackathon this coming weekend, Feb 19-20.

Parts of the existing site will be de-activated during this time while
we migrate/update all remaining content from the old site. If you're
planning to blog during the weekend, you should be able to do so on the
new site half-way through the hackathon. All user accounts have been
migrated and you should be able to log into the Wordpress Control Panel
using your existing passwords.

Things that are changing on the new site:

- Events are now split up into two Google Calendars: Events (which is
displayed on the new website) and Administracrap (which contains
Kwartzlab-centric reminders, like cleaning duty, domain renewals, etc.
These calendars are free for Kwartzlab members to edit, so if you'd like
to do so, send me (or any other director) an email and we'll add your
address to the list. The calendars are:

Events: https://www.google.com/calendar/embed?src=events@kwartzlab.ca
Administracrap:
https://www.google.com/calendar/embed?src=9jmicqc3iu4rstmbvpq0iu5ams@group.calendar.google.com

- We had two wikis in place, a Drupal-based and Mediawiki-based one.
We've moved all the content from Drupal to Mediawiki, and will continue
to use that to store things that change frequently (like board meeting
minutes, information on our tools, projects, etc).

- The Drupal forums haven't been active since the fall as the large
majority of discussion seems to happen on our public mailing list
already. Since it's been completely spammed out, the forum won't make an
appearance on the new site.

Once the new website is operational I'd invite everyone who has blogged
on there to login and re-check their posts. I'll be going through them
and updating broken links/images but it's always better to have a second
pair of eyes for this stuff :)

If anyone has any questions, comments or suggestions, please reply back
on the member's list.

Thanks!
