That's ok. I was turning with pine wood, which is a bit soft... it
might have been a combination of soft wood and not-fully-sharp tool.
It seemed to work better with harder wood.

Good to know. I need some lessons before I dream of sharpening someone
else's tools myself. :-) From what I've read, sharpening can be an art.
