[KwartzLab] Videos: The Woodwright's Shop

I have a tall chest of drawers here, passed to me by a friend who found
it in the garage when she bought her house.

It fascinates me. It looks old, very old. It has all fancy techniques
like raised panels, fluting, crown moldings, and yet it's so obviously
completely hand-made. All the panels aren't quite flat, you can see
lots of plane marks. The fluting is wavy. Nothing fits perfectly. The
drawer pulls are obviously hand-carved. Clearly no power tools were
used. But it all hangs together and makes a pretty impressive piece.

I can't figure out if it's really old, or something more recent built as
some kind of perverse challenge. My feeling is that the master
craftsman of yore could have done a better job.
