Hang on, isn't Mark Tilden the inventor of the RoboSapien? I think he used to work at NASA on something related to the Pathfinder lander before moving on to toys...
Just googled it and found his Wikipedia page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Tilden Looks like he was a UW student at one time, too.
