[KwartzLab] Looking for ready to use LED+battery modules

K/W Surplus has the following item on their (crappy) web site:
   "5mm yellow led 1000/pkg"
It is unlikely that this item costs $1000, if they indeed have it in
stock as described.
So that could be a non-online source of cheap LEDs (ie, not $1 each).
They normally have a variety of battery powered LED gizmos
(flashlights etc), and you might conceivably find one that is super
cheap.
