I'm pleased to announce that we have a new member-in-waiting: Taylor
Morey has submitted his application.
Taylor learned about Kwartzlab by talking to Bernie Rohde at The
Museum. He's visited the lab twice, but has mostly justed talked to
me. He is interested in joining primarily so that he can use the
Laser Cutter.
Taylor is an electronics professor at Conestoga College. He's not
local: he lives a 75 minute drive west of Kwartzlab, and he'll be
driving out primarily to use the cutter. Taylor is interested in
building an electronic sculpture, in roughly the same genre that
Bernie works in. It's a large geodesic dome made out of plexiglass,
with LEDs at each vertex, which are lit up by a neural network. He's
not using software and a microcontroller, so I gathered he's using
something closer to discrete electronics, like Bernie does?
If you know Taylor or have met him, please let us know!
Doug Moen.
