[KwartzLab] Fwd: Your Awesome Foundation Application!

I discussed this application with a certain Awesome Foundation
trustee.  For a wide open public event like this, with kids involved,
we need to be concerned about safety, and we should prepare a safety
plan for our pitch.  For example:
 * Scroll saw blades sound cheap and effective, but they are
dangerous, and Brenda has seen several blade related injuries (one
requiring hospitalization) during public pumpkin carves.  There are
commercially available pumpkin carving knives made of plastic. The
advantage is that they won't cut through tendon.
 * Soldering irons are dangerous.  Maybe we should supply gloves.

Don't forget that Cate offered to preview our pitch and make
recommendations on how to improve it.
