Yes, I like the idea of holding a workshop.  Currently Don has the
most expertise, but I want to get up to speed quickly as well.

Approved materials are any designed for a vinyl cutter: these consist
of a thin sheet of raw material with a removable paper or plastic
backing, such as sign vinyl (which we have), or 3M #1126 copper tape
with conductive adhesive for making flexible circuits (which we could
order).  The knife is adjusted to cut the material but not the
backing.  The backing protects the teflon strip in the cutter from
damage.

To cut paper or card stock, you need a carrier sheet, like this (which
we don't have yet):
