At first is sounded like a lot of hokum... If you leave spin in the exhaust that is kinetic energy you are losing. But it is indirectly explained that the rotation essentially acts as a vertical extension to the physical stack, thus giving the draft of a tall stack using a shorter stack. Still not convinced though...
