There are celebrity guests visiting Kwartzlab tomorrow night (Tuesday Open
Night).

We will have some visitors from Diyode in Guelph. They are buying a laser
cutter similar to ours, and I'll be giving them a demo.

We will have some casting agents from a new reality TV show that focuses on
Maker culture.
I have included more information about the TV show below.

*SOUND LIKE FUN? Send us your AUDITION VIDEO! Deadline February 29th. *

*AUDITION VIDEO TIPS*

*INDIVIDUAL SUBMISSIONS*

Your *audition tape should be 1:30 – 4:00 minutes* in length. It should
tell us your name, profession and educational background, but more
importantly, it should show of your passion and enthusiasm for building,
engineering, making, etc. You should list all of your relevant skills (see
list above) and why exactly you would make an excellent “dream team”
member. As a rule of thumb, aim to “show”, not just “tell”. This means that
if possible, you should show off your garage, basement or workshop, and
some examples of the nifty stuff you’ve already built. And last but not
least, you must answer the following question in thirty seconds or less:

*“Describe how you would construct a device to launch a laptop SAFELY
across a football field, such that it is operational after landing.”*

*TEAM SUBMISSIONS*

If you would like to submit an audition tape as a pre-existing partnership
or team (maximum 4 people), each team member must be represented equally,
with a minimum of 1:00 minute each of screen time. Check the “Individual
Submissions” list above as a guideline. And you must answer the following
question:

*“Describe how you would construct a device to launch a laptop SAFELY
across a football field, such that it is operational after landing.”*

*MORE DETAILS*

You can shoot your audition tape on any recording device (including camera
phones). Just make sure your video has good lighting (we need to see you)
and good audio (we need to hear you). Be sincere, be passionate, be
creative, and have fun!

*Just upload your videos to YOUTUBE, and include the youtube URL in your
ONLINE QUESTIONNAIRE which you can complete at the following link:*
