Brendan Reilly is a friend of kwartzlab: he created the wooden
grandfather clock in the lobby.
Here are his instructions for creating a simple solar viewer, in time
for the Transit of Venus tomorrow.

Hi Everyone
I've come up with a safe, simple, cheap, and easy way to effectively
view the Venus Transit, which starts tomorrow (Tues June 5) at 6:04pm
in Southern Ontario and lasts until the sun sets. It uses a lens from
a pair of dollar store reading glasses, number 1.00 to 1.50. Here is a
