I will be running an Ubuntu install workshop on July 11th. I will be
bringing a bunch of desktop systems into the lab and having participants
walk together with me through the process of installing Ubuntu 12.04 on said
computers.
The purpose of this workshop is to teach people some basic terminology and
concepts that they can apply to their general computing knowledge, including
but not limited to:
* You can boot computers from CD!
** And how to do it
* Operating Systems exist!
** And there are more than one
* Hard drives can be partitioned!
* Computers can boot more than one OS!
I expect the workshop to run from approximately 19:00 to 21:00.
This workshop is targeted at computing novices, but will likely also have
some useful information for intermediate-level users.
