[KwartzLab] Cad software for laser cutter?

Quick question. If a friend of Kwartzlab were to come on a TON night and
want to use the laser cutter, what software should be used to design the
cutting pattern?

I'm thinking of making book safes with a cutout more detailed than the
rectangles I can manage with an exacto knife.
