A bit off-topic, but I'm curious if anything like this exists already.

I'm thinking that it would be useful if there was a structured method of
offering books for lending that I've just read.  I have a small library
of books, and once I've read them, they just collect dust.  It would be
better if I could offer them to a group who might borrow as time and
interest allows.

Does something like this already exist?  I've heard of BookCrossing, but
that's more of a one-way lending mechanism, which is fine for some books,
but there are some I'd like to see again. :-)
