[KwartzLab] 6 or 8 cores?

He may be hard pressed to find a local Ubuntu system running 6-8 true
cores. You'd be talking only the highest end Core i7's, most recent (<1
year) Xeon processors have 6-8 true cores, and the highest-end AMD
Opterons from the last year.
I don't suppose he could use a quad-core with hyperthreading? If that's
the case I've got Ubuntu on my Core i7 laptop he could run it on.
