Hey Kwartzlab Members,

My name is Thomas Millar, I've been coming out to some of the open house Tuesdays over the past couple months and I want to get your thoughts on an idea that I had. I'm currently the Technology Lead for the Canadian Undergraduate Technology Conference and one of my responsibilities is to increase the ambient tech feel on the conference floor. I've been enamoured with the maker culture since I was first introduced to it last year. I was wondering if any of you would like to work on a project with me for the conference, or if any of you would be interested in bringing out some of the stuff that you've built.

Currently I'm imagining coming onto the conference floor, looking around and seeing 500 like-minded individuals and then looking up and seeing robots flying around (I'm thinking something like the Festo Airray (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UxPzodKQays)). Having ambient music playing in a background that is generated from a piece of software on a multitouch drafting table.

Anyways I have a bunch of ideas and I was wondering if anyone was interested in building something, or if anyone has any cool ideas that would fit in perfectly at a undergraduate tech conference. Beer Fridge Keg anyone?

Thanks for your time,

Thomas Millar
