[KwartzLab] Setting up tools for CS from the Top and Bottom

Just a little snag here - Ubuntu 12.04 on CD from Darcy has decided to install its demo version in Czech on my window project.  My arrow keys and mouse don't do anything, although there was a mouse pointer earlier.  Something seems to be happening but very slowly - about every 15 min a little clock icon moves across the screen.  Any suggestions ?    Bernie
