[KwartzLab] RFID readers

I have a work project where I have to work with RFID tags. I do not
know much about the technology, but from what I can tell the tags have
a 128kHz transponder chip.
I am looking for an RFID reader that will be able to read the
identifier off these tags in a way that I can copy and paste them.
Ideally, this would pretend that it is a USB keyboard, but I am
flexible with this. For example, the kit below communicates via a
serial terminal, which is not ideal but is good enough.
Here are my questions:
0. Does Kwartzlab (or a generous list member) have such a device that I
could try with one of my RFID devices? I want to know whether this
128kHz thing is correct at all.
1. I have been looking around for devices, and I came across this:
Is this the kind of thing that I want? $50 is not a bad price, but is
this what I should be expecting to pay for such a setup?
2. Where should I be looking to purchase these kinds of things? I
found a place in Markham that offers the components of the above kit:
Should I be looking elsewhere?
As I mentioned, I am a newbie to this stuff, so apologies in advance
if my terminology and understanding is all wrong.
